New Bundesliga format: What lies in store for Rapid
With SK Rapid's place in the lower half of the table confirmed, the Green & Whites will now battle with the teams occupying places 7 -12 in the table for the right to contest a European spot. The Hütteldorfers will fight to secure 7th place, which would result in a two-legged "semi-final" against the team finishing fifth in the upper group. The winner will then progress to a further two-legged tie, or "final", with a place in the qualifying rounds of the UEFA Europa League up for grabs.
The Bundesliga have published the fixtures for the inaugural post-season: following the international break we will take on Admira in the Allianz Stadion, before travelling to take on Innsbruck in Tivoli.
